What are the main differences between the BB 1 & 2 and the Burstbucker pro? Are the BB 1 and 2 wax potted now? Looking for the closest 1960 PAF sound. Please advise. jamman Posted March 8, 2010 Share Posted March 8, 2010 The BB1&2 are not potted. I think they are very close to the "paf" that your looking for from Gibson. I have both pups and like the BB's more. It really comes down to Your personal taste. I'm not sure of all the build differences, but it's what you hear that counts. marvar Posted March 9, 2010 Share Posted March 9, 2010 the regular BBs have an A2 magnet (more mellow, chimey, less bottom end) the Pro's are potted and have an A5 magnet (louder, more bottom, more clairity) as for build, they are the same, just mag and wax being the difference.
