flyingarmadillo
You'll be able to combine your F1 and guitars in a couple of years. They've supposedly signed a contract to race on a purpose built track in Austin, TX starting in 2012. http://www.formula1.com/news/headlines/2010/5/10824.html

Smart thinking on Austin's part. It will bring a lot of attention and tourist money to the city. It was the best move ever for Valencia.
pippy
Fantastic seats you got there, Dave. ...Smart thinking on Austin's part. It will bring a lot of attention and tourist money to the city. It was the best move ever for Valencia. I watched the race and all the time in my subconscious I was thinking 'Hmmmm....Valencia looks to be a really nice place for a visit...or perhaps a holiday?...' I'm being serious, BTW! As far as the race goes, I was amazed the 9 guys who were penalised for speeding back to the pits only received a 5 second penalty. Normally Ferarri gets the rub of the green and with Alonso lined up to be the main beneficiary I thought that the authorities would be able to stitch it up in their favour; Not So. Didn't Kobayashi do well? His move to pass Buemi on the last corner of the last lap was a corker. I bet a lot of F1 team principals are having a good look at him, too. Webber and Kovalainen shook hands in the medical centre and neither places any blame on the other - which is a refreshing change in F1!

The city has a lot to offer, beaches, great food, museums, the biggest aquerium in Europe and a great night life. Should be at the top of the list for places to visit... pippy
...Should be at the top of the list for places to visit... It's certainly jumped up the queue a whole lot! Some of the architecture looks amazing; both the old and the new. My wife's one-quarter Spanish and she's explored the country quite extensively. I'm not sure whether she's been to Valencia, though. We have some very good friends here from Valencia. I must pump them for more info!

pippy
Great snaps and clips, Dave. Thanks for that. Are some of those new buildings by Calatrava, do you know? EDIT : Actually, why don't I just go off and Google 'Valencia' for myself... Why should I ask you to do the work of the Spanish Tourist Board. LOL! Cheers! pippy
Classy Video, Dave. I've been checking out flight prices and it's all good news. I'll wait for the wife to get home before booking anything, though! With Chloe not yet six years old ("Five-and-a-half-and-a-bit" is how she puts it) we need to cover 13 weeks in the course of the year because of school holidays. I'm very tempted...
