ksdaddy Posted July 1, 2010 Share Posted July 1, 2010 Some of them had bolt on necks. Look for instability in the neck block area. A "drive by" assessment would be to look for distortion of the binding on the top, where it meets the neck. Major surgery. Been there. Reserved for heirloom stuff. TommyK has had enough exp with Japanese Epiphones to back me up on this one. On the good side, if it's not too bad you can shim the neck to restore the angle... but it's a lot like shimming the cinder blocks holding your 1970 12x50 trailer level. Could be short term.
