polymolly
A new doubt: i was going to replace the pots, and, to my surprise, all the pots have a cap in it... My first guess was: it's a tone cap, for each pup, since there's only one overall tone, but... what about the cap on the tone pot? Sorry for the "retarded newbie" factor question... And thanks as always!
bluesstringer
They are probably treble bleed caps so you don't lose as much treble when turning down the volume.
TWANG
treble bleeds connect from the outer lug of the vol pot to the middle lug of the same pot.. tone caps connect differently.. you can tell. suggestion: treble bleed caps are fine.. but.. with three pups you might like to vary each cap value by a little bit. since they are way cheap.. it's really good to buy a value a bit below .001uF.. or two!.. and try them on each pup. you wont hurt 'em soldering in and you may as well fine tune your performance to what you really really will be happy with.
