Trying not to panic. Ebay epiphone dot.

OKay, so I bought an epiphone dot(used) off of ebay recently, came today.

Plays pretty well, problem, though, I have some fret buzz on the G(open or muted, not fretted), and the 3rd fret is dead on the G, B and E strings.

What do I need to do to fix this?

I pretty foolishly adjusted the truss rod, not realizing how hard it is to get intonation right on every string, so it might be going to the shop to fix that if I can't get it right there tonight.

My other problem is that fretboard feels pretty dry, what can I do to help that?

Also, I thought it was kinda odd, I got an epiphone casino poster with the guitar.

The serial number is EE071101027, and is located on the sticked inside the guitar.

The date beside the bar on one of the papers is 01/08/08.

Here's some pics(sorry for crappy quality), tell me if anything else is bad...

Yeah. Anyway, don't worry about the intonation; you need to address the buzzing/dead fret issues first.

Set the relief... you need to see a bit of space under the E string at the eighth fret while holding the string down at the first and 17th frets. About 1/32nd of an inch for starters.

Adjust the action for 1/16" on the treble side and 3/32" on the bass side at the twelfth fret.

Still buzzing? Still dead on the 3rd fret? Time to get your nut height checked and also have the 4th fret looked at. It may need a bit of leveling.

Okay, depending on the price of having intonation done at my local shop(i.e. if it's over 20 bucks), i'll have them handle it.

As for the 3rd fret...

I actually did a bunch(ALOT) of big bends on the 4th fret, and now the 3rd works fine.

Also, matter of opinion, should I put the "e" emblem on the pickguard or not?

I'd leave it off. I actually went to the trouble of cutting a proper' date=' late fifties 335-style pickguard with the fancy angle bracket when I had a Dot; never did like that Epi-style thing.

Very nice!

I'm off to google to see if I can just BUY one of those, perhaps...

Also, I'm going to change the bridge pickup to a GFS mean 90.

That'll be nice.
