RotcanX
So I found this two-DVD documentary on The Who at the local video rental place, and they were dumping it for seven bucks, so I figured 'what the hey?' and bought it. Watched the first disc yesterday (very long, couple of hours) and there's all kinds of cool guitars to be seen over the years. I never realized Pete played so many Ricks and Teles as well as Strats and the expected SGs. Anyhoo in one of the older clips you het a quick glimpse of an Epi headstock just like the ones they have on the Kats, with the aluminum plate screwed on it. One thing about that headstock, it sure is easy to recognize.
brad1
Hey Spud, the "glimpse" you speak of, was it of him playing an Epi? And if so, what model was it? An SG? I never knew he played so many different models either.
RotcanX
Well, since there is no such thing as an Epi SG and they weren't making G-400s back in those days... Unfortunately you pretty much only get a fast glimpse of the headstock... more likely it was an old archtop such as a Zephyr or a Century.

brad1
It sure is a good thing he started wearing the guitar a lot lower. Would have been pretty hard doing his trademark windmill guitar strokes with it under his chin like that.
