Roswell
Hello all, After my last thread, I was recently offered a used Epiphone Dot. Upon inspection, it's in great shape (less than a year old, pics when I get it if anyone is interested, nice cherry finish -- it should get here Friday-ish, very excited as it's my first Epi and my first semi-hollow), but I have a few questions. Now, I usually play classic rock - Beatles type stuff. Someone suggested I switch the pickups to P-94s (humbucker size P-90 likes) and that I add a Bigsby tailpiece. Thoughts? Take a while to see how you like it as is before you consider a pickup change.

Play it, some here like the original pickups, others want something else... but put it through it's paces, for some time, before even thinking about changing pickups. If you've ever watched "Concert for George," you'll see a boat load of great players, playing George's "Beatles" songs, with every kind of guitar...and it all sounds wonderful! So, you can get any sound you want, with a little work. Only George used the bigsby, on occasion. So, if you're going to use it, for other stuff, great. Otherwise, you won't really need it, for "Beatles" stuff. They do look nice, though. LOL! CB
Roswell
Yea, they're really nice looking In a lot of the Beatles videos (the few he used the Casino live, ever) the tremolo arm is unhooked and pushed out of the way anyway:-"
