Huge amount of rattle from Casino

When plugged in my Casino sounds great but it rattles and buzzes like crazy acoustically.

I don't play this guitar too loud so it can be a fair distraction.

I wrapped foam around some of the wires i could reach but it didn't help. There are more

wires in there that I couldn't get to easily - could they be the culprits?

I don't have a Casino, but using my Dot and Wildkat to relate to your problem the first thing I would ask is - are you sure none of this is exterior noise. Tuners not tightened down properly are known to cause the metallic buzz/rattle. The bridge also can cause problems if not secured properly. Keep in mind sound travels easily on a guitar, so what you might think is coming from the body could easily be coming from another part of the guitar.

My next thought would be a loose washer or metal part of the pots or switches.

Since I'm not one to do mods, so I know little about the interior of a guitar. My thoughts and comments are just general assumptions and I would secure the advise from one of the other members that admittidly know more than me.

The TOM bridges on (some) Epi guitars have been known to rattle and buzz. I have 2 Epi's, one bridge was crap, the other fine. The intonation screws can sometimes rattle a bit. Often, a little tweak on the offending intonation screws, one way or the other will fix it. A Gotoh bridge is a common upgrade/fix.

I'll go over the outside carefully. I am very familiar with repair/modding on solidbodies but I must admit that the Casino is scary.

I'm sure you will locate it. I know when I try to trace a buzz (not string related) it can be deceiving, so I just start checking to make sure everything is tight.

I do have a question for you about wrapping the wire in foam - does that have any effect on the tone of the guitar? I'm not really understanding what you are doing, I would think it would deaden the sound or reduce sustain. Again, I really don't have a clear picture of what you are doing with the foam, so I could be off in another direction.

I fished out the pup wires because I thought they might be rattling against the back of the guitar. Then I took 2 small

pieces of foam and wrapped it around the wires where I could reach. It was wrapped loose and a staple used to hold the foam together.

The I pushed it all back in. I figured the foam would keep the wires from banging around.

I was just checking the guitar out a few minutes ago abd it seems to be the bridge! When I push on the intonation screws it will stop. If the retainer wire was tighter it would solve it I think.

Is there a certain Gotoh bridge that will fit this?
