Discontinued models

Not that I'm doubting anyone but how do we know that these models have been discontinued? Has there been a release from Epiphone? When we say discontinued do we mean temporarily stopped production or never to be made again? How should that effect prices on these models if any? I just brought a AllyKat from a collector and he didn't believe it when I told him.

Oggy.

Go back to the main page and look at the models. There's a big "Discontinued" in red letters right on the top left hand corner on aforementioned models.

They're still available from online sources. But they won't be much longer.

The following models are discontinued:

Les Paul 1956 Goldtop

Les Paul Custom Plus

Les Paul Studio Chameleon

Alleykat

ES-295

Zephyr Regent

=D>

So' date=' the trimming has already begun.

I'm really sad to see the '56 Goldtop and Zephyr Regent discontinued. Gorgeous guitars....(Goldtops are popular around here...but the Zephyr....sigh....)

I see that they added the Elitist Casino to the archtop collection on their site. MF and SW are both still acting as though there are Elitists on the way. We'll see. MF keeps pushing its arrival date back.

  • 3 months later...

My ZBD, 56 Goldtop and Valve Standard amp have all been discontinued:-({|=

I feel kinda special, like I own a piece of history. I wonder if the value of these instruments in the resale market will appreciate in time or just depreciate along with other Asian-made instruments. I don't really care because I am very happy with the quality and playability of my guitars - I hope that they will only get better with age (they aren't made out of particle board).

I agree that Epi (and even Gibson) have far too many versions of the same models. I think that they should narrow the lines but keep the classics, so that Epiphones can remain "the working man's Gibson". I do applaud, however, Epi's technological pioneering in models such as the Les Paul Ultra line.

I wonder if it would be better for Epi to market a separate "entry level" product line, to differentiate the "100's, Specials, Stranges" and other beginners and trendy/quirky "wannabe Epi" models from the higher quality pro/hobbyist axes that are the reason for the existence of this forum [-o<

I can't argue that 20 models may be too many but I think it's a crime that out of all that there is now NO LPs with either P-90s or minis.

Boo.

that's How i'm feeling about that.. I want a LP w/ p-90's or mini humbuckers.. oh wait, I got a '01 Deluxe in Metallic red w/ mini's .. I really want a GT '56 but I don't like Gold.. i've seen a very few LP p-90's "Limited editions" (year ?).. in Black.. Not my 2nd choice of color but better then Gold IMO Opinion.. Maybe i'll just bite the Gold top and get one for less then $300 used.
