Bradmeister
Hi, Guys, I found a 1999 R9 at a local shop. It plays beautifully and sounds awesome. Light, too. They want $3500 for it. Is that a decent deal? I'm not sure if I want it yet. Gonna try a new R9 soon to see if this guitar is average/standard R9 or exceptional. I've played a few new standards and been disappointed, but this guitar spoke to me. It's awesome. Thanks for any advice, Brad
Tim Plains
Price, I don't know...my only advice is don't compare it to just one reissue. Try a few if you can.
Bradmeister
Yeah, since a new R8 is about $3K, I thought I might look into those. I'm going to try an R9, too, just for the sake of argument. I can't bring myself to buy a new R9, but if the 1999 sounds the same or better, I might pick it up. Gotta sell a few things to deflect flak from the wife, though.... :-)
FennRx
i would say thats a pretty good price, assuming she s in good condition and comes with the case, the candy and the paperwork. make sure you play her though. she could be priced to sell because she's a dud...the single R9 at my GC is a 2006 model that looks, sounds and plays like crap. jkinnison90
Seems like a good price to me when comparing to the prices on eBay. If she looks well, plays well and isn't in bad condition I would think about getting it.
