Epiphone Information Required - Seeking authenticity and quality confirmation

Hey everyone.

I just got this guitar and I have been looking up this style on the internet and judging my fresh narrow knowledge of guitars ///its similar to the es 335, casino elitist, Dot and sheraton....etc etc

(The guitar im talking about is my avatar picture)

Now I want to know what model this is, some guy told me its the Epiphone 510 ZT but I cant find that model anywhere on the net. Secondly is it a real Epiphone?. Third of all, when people say its a Jazz guitar, what is the kind of sound a jazz guitar makes? Can this guitar be suitable for Post rock, progressive rock,,, type music? ie. godspeed you black emperor, mogwai. this will destroy you, eluvium, caspian, explosions in the sky....

THANK YOU GUYS, VERY APPRECIATEDa.pngb.jpgc.jpg

If you're referring to the guitar in your avater, it looks like a 70s Japanese Epiphone. They were basically the gutiars already being made at the factory, with an Epiphone headstock.

A "jazz" guitar is generally any sort of hollow- or semi-hollow guitar - Gibson's ES-line and similar. From the looks of it, yours has humbuckers, making it an odd variation of the ES-335.

In all honesty, I have no idea what any of those genres or groups sound like, but I've seen plenty of groups on TV playing similar models.

Well just from the folks in this forum, the Dots are well loved and great values. The dot has a set neck, not bolt on, and a limited life time backing from Epi. The PUs on the new guitars are much better now a days then the 70s models. But if your into older guitars and its in good shape it really comes down to what you like. Maybe a thread called" Tell me what you like about your Dot" would get you more info. Good luck. Stan.

Thank you very much, I just got it...It is my first guitar ;-p

I fell in love with it right away, the color gradient, the wood on the bottom (im not sure what that part is called)

To be perfectly honest with you bud, I haven't received it yet...I ordered it from the internet and i am anxiously awaiting its arrival. I will definitely keep you posted on the tremolo question once I use it ;-p

thanks
