Ricochet
Apparently they dropped the letter, since all Epiphones are made in Qing Dao, China

Ricochet
the have also a stick that sais : inspected by gabor china if it good or bad?? thanks!! I think every Epiphone comes with a sticker like that. It's no real indication of quality. Only you tell if it's good or bad.
robertobaptista
ook. and so i can say that it is good or bad?? i think that it´s good, good wood, or it seems... good tune, ... what things i have to see?? thanks again
JefferySmith
the have also a stick that sais : inspected by gabor china if it good or bad?? thanks!! Like it or not, China is pretty much where the Epiphones are being built. I would have preferred their having stayed in the Samick or Unsung Korea sites, but this may work out. Quality control may be better than typical Chinese merchandise (don't get me started).
tramber
hi!! i´m from spain and i bought yesterday a epi les paul standard plus' date=' but...the serial number is: 080612xxxx where is the U, EE, S...¿??? it is a fake epiphone???[/quote'] There is a guitar dealer here in the US (Sweetwater) that shows photos of the actual guitars that they have for sale. I was looking at a couple of DOTS and I noticed the same thing -- no letter(s) preceding the serial number. Here's a link so you can take a look: http://www.sweetwater.com/guitargallery/electric/custom/s0804122757/ Doug -
ant7629
I have two Chinese Epi's and they are both great. I think they had teething trouble initially, but the ones made within the past two years seem really good. My LP Custom has a serial number without letters also. Emetry
any other information about this??? thanks! well...given the numbers that you submitted, I would just follow standard Gibson/Epiphone SN reading. 08= 2008 06= June followed by the batch number then the number of the guitar in the batch
