Is it worth it? EA-250

Hi kids:

 

I have my trusty ol' 250. (like the riviera), BUT it needs some fixing.

 

First, the electronics need to be rewired, then I think some refretting is necessary and the binding is a little bad at the neck. (a common problem).

 

The thing is that I am very aattached to it, but dont know if is worth the money, trying to repair it.

For the amount you'd spend doing all those repairs, you'd be most of the way toward getting a brand-new Dot, which is a MUCH better instrument than the 250. From a purely musical and technical standpoint, I'd say it's not worth spending that much money on, but sentiment is rarely logical, so it may be worth it to you from a purely emotional perspective.

 

I'd recommend you go play some guitars at a store (or several) to get a feel for what's available at what price points before you make your decision. You may find something that makes your decision easier!
