Hey there id like to put an EMG 81 in a guitar but the other pickups are std passive types. With the EMG 81 you have to use there volume pot apparently which is 25k value. Does that mean i cant use that pot for my other pickups?

The guitar has 1 volume pot and 1 tone pot and 3 pickups.

Basically will i need to add a seperate volume (the one they supply) Just for the bridge and leave the other for the other pickups? And what about tone too??

Cheers Guys

There are actually a few issues with combining EMG active and passive pickups. The first and most important is that the EMG's don't use a string ground and the passive pickups do....that would be the deal killer for me right there beyond the volume controls differences. I suggest all active or all passive.

Had a feeling it wasnt goona be straight forward ](*,)

Never mind prob go for a dimebucker then. What hi out put on bridge but dont wanna spend on the others i'll hardly use. Gonna be for metal and keep my lp for mainly rock. Doesnt matter if the metal guitar doesnt clean up to well.

Thanks
