It is sooooo good that I had to have an EMG equipped one to match but I got a great deal on the futura as opposed to the SG. Anyone else got a futura and what do you like/dislike about it? I'm not as big a fan of the EMG's ... they just sound too harsh and "metal" for my taste ... and , being the old guy that I am, the Futura is just way too "pointy" for me. That having been said, I think the Prophecy line is just fantastic. Some of the best necks made today, IMHO. I also have the LP Prophecy GX. Congrats on your new axe, Geff! I know the futura is a bit pointy but it is a 1950s design (actually pre-dates the Explorer). I wanted the EMG equipped guitar because I already have, and love the DF equipped one but the futura was cheaper than the SG by $100 despite identical specs so I opted for it and, actually, I think the design suits the pickups quite well given that they are clearly very "modern-metal" pickups. I will use the SG for more bluesy/classic rock stuff and the futurer for "shredding" (when I learn to play either style well that is!!!). Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
