GibsonEpi87 Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Hi all, I've had my Epiphone SG for about 6 months now and it was working absolutely fine until i moved back from school. At first I thought it was a faulty patch cord or my amp was going, but I tried my other electrics and they seemed to work. My issue is that when I plug in my guitar I'm getting a massive fuzzy noise and that's it. I can't use my chromatic tuner on my effects pedal neither. I suspect it has something to do with my pickups...but I'm not too sure. Anyone have an idea?
Bender 4 Life Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 A wire has come off the input jack. +1 Rowdy, good call ! OR, a bug has crawled into the jack, OR your 3 way switch is internally corroded, or your volume/tone pots are corroded. But 99% probability says Rowdys right.
lpfan Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Definately check the connections on the input jack. Can you switch amps? If it still does it, check your guitars input jack. If it doesn't do it then check the jack on your amp. I'm sure its something very simple.
duane v Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Same thing happened to the Kramer, it was a wire that worked itself loose on the jack.
GibsonEpi87 Posted May 13, 2009 Author Posted May 13, 2009 Thanks for the help...I opened up the back and found really no problems and no loose wires, however, I noticed some fraying of a wire going into the input jack, so that may be it. Thans again though for the help
