Anyone got/had one of these. They look pretty nice but wondering what the differences are between them and the Samick ones, if any. Red Trans pickguard seems to be a difference. It's a Natural finish, looks great and plays great, especially through the new VOX AC30CC2 amplifier I just purchased this past weekend. On mine the "Tree of Life" design on the headstock has really nice pieces of Mother of Pearl and it looks superb. I've seen some of the recent ones coming out of China and they look terrible. It doesn't even look like they try to match the pieces up. They just pull them out randomly instead of trying to use pieces that look more consistently like they came from the same shell. If it was truly made at the Saien factory the serial # will start with an "I" then year, month, etc. You're right; two of the same model guitar could be considerably different as you say with your Casinos. It's that way with all guitars, I think. That's why I like to try mine out before purchasing them. The Sheraton is all Maple and has Humbucker pickups, so it will sound very different from a Casino which has a Maple body, but Mahogany neck and P-90 pickups. Plus the Sheraton is semi-hollow, as opposed to full-hollow body like the Casino. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The neck is definitely a Dot though (with a full legit serial number) and it's one of the sturdiest guitars I've owned. It's getting a revamp this summer though so it's currently out of action. I just had Grover Locking Rotomatic Tuners (received from our own dear "Twang") put on and now she stays in tune. Next installation will be a Tone-Pro bridge/saddles to make an improvement on that part of the guitar (and stop the rattling of the s**ty ones that come stock on Epiphone electric guitars). clarkuss Posted May 13, 2009 Author Share Posted May 13, 2009 Yeah, I just saw it cheap but in all probability I don't need a new guitar, I just like to buy guitars with my spare money so that it's in assets rather than takeaway food, drinking and CDs but I'll let you know if I end up with this one. The best way I can describe my the differences between my two Casinos is that the Peerless one is more woody and Jazz sounding with the a smaller neck wheras the Unsung one is more bluesy and rock and performs more like a modern guitar with a slightly bigger neck (no bone nut) and the body construction seems to be wider (face on) but not as arched or curvy. I prefer to use my Peerless in the house for strumming about and songwriting or laying down a more vintage sounding rythm but the Unsung is a bit more more of a workhorse and sees most of the gigs and louder playing.
