Rik1281734177
Hi guys, just got an Epiphone Les paul on Ebay, which I pick up next week. Trying to find out some more info on it, so any help would be appreciated. I think from the serial number it is 1997 made in Korea, I know there where "limited edition" colours in 1997 but is this one limited beacause of the trem? or the colour. And is there a way you can find out how many where made with tremelos etc etc. Any help would be great cheers in advance Rik http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380162021433&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT take a look and see for yourselves cheers
Ricochet
is this one limited because of the trem? or the colour. And is there a way you can find out how many where made with tremelos Could be either the finish, trem or both. Epiphones usually keeps tightlipped about actual amounts manufactured. However, I've heared of 500 for a LE. According to others the LE stamp does not indicate a predefined amount. Epi will produce the model as long as it sells. Rik1281734177
do you think it was a good price to pay?
Ricochet
A very good price. I think it's a beauty! And the U in the serial indicates it's made by Unsung Korea which has a very good reputation. I think you've done well for yourself.

Suicidehummer
My Ultra was made by Unsung Korea and it's a very solid guitar. Feels more substantial, for lack of a better term, than either of my Qingdao Epis.
