AS90
this J&D Brothers Les Paul for £99 in the local pawn shop! Set neck, really nice binding, nice quality MOP markers, toggle switch and pots are rock solid and dead quiet, pickups are decent. It has a really nice honeyburst finish which looks a lot lighter in the flesh, the colour looks exactly the same as my old Gibson LP. It plays like butter! Let the modding begin! animalfarm
You may have just opened the doorway many of us have gone thru before you - I LOVE my GIBBYS, and EPIs. Point made. But there's just something about discovering a solid piece of work by an "unknown" manufacturer, gets in your blood. To that point I have found Jay Turser (LPs only), Austin (LPs only), Halo, and I MUST include Agile Guitars in the mix. Beyond that, I LOVE scoring 70s and 80 era LP copies. Regarding your J and D - Looks like a real winner! At the GOOD price, too! Hell, if you're not totally satisfied, you couldn't have found a better MOD/Experiment platform! BRAVO to you! Lucky Barstid!!! You don't say what model you have, but here's a link to "Jack and Danny Bros" (J & D) Harmony Central reviews - let us know which one you have!!!! http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews/Guitar/brand/J&D+Jack+And+Danny+Brothers
Stevie Nazarenie
i want a black kay les paul copy. it was my first guitar. i'm curious just what that mahogany may have been. it sure was heavy! i would not hate it for having a bolt on neck now as i like that differing tonality. I also love Orvilles and Grecos because they are cheap and can be better than Gibsons. This J&D Bros LP is easily as good as a Jap made Tokai or Burny, it has a slim 60s neck and smooth fret job. I see some GFS 59s and nickel hardware coming its way as its a keeper.
AS90
I gave it a good setup this morning and it plays really well! I love it! I did some research and found these retail at £350 so £99 is a bargain.
