Epiphone Alleykat Gas!

I've got Gas!!

Jonesing bad for an Alleykat I saw today at Sam Ash. $369

Tagged as a 2009, serial read I05xxxxxx so it's a Saein 2005 that's probably been sitting in some ware house for a while. Since the inspection tag said 4/09

I wonder if it has the Loc-Tone parts for the tailpiece and bridge, which is one thing I would want to check on. I couldn't make out the stamping underneath.

As long as that bridge says 'Epiphone' and not B-2, all is OK.

(it is pretty important honestly, as I am quite fond of the upgraded part.

I haven't had to replace a one.)

Should I jump on it?

Put it on layaway?

Jump on it. It's a really sweet guitar. And since it has been discontinued, they are getting hard to find.

Decided against purchasing this one.

Even though it's Made In Korea, (I0511xx) it was made in 2005

at my least favorite plant... Saien, 3 months earlier than My SG Custom was.

I could see underneath the bridge stamped B-2. Uh-Oh....

no Loc-Tone parts just the old stuff...not removed and replaced.

So this Saein built Alleycat won't be coming home with me.
