WannaBeatle
I had asked this same question a while back ago, but for some odd reason my profile got deleted. But, which pot is best for an '89 Samick made Les Paul Custom
TWANG
full size CTS audio taper volume. linear tape tone. or all four audio taper. 500K ohms. But you gotta change to USA size knobs if you go CTS. epis knobs are metric spline. If you go with mini pots Alphas will do. TWANG
WannaBeatle
thanks. are there any recommendations for a pot that's about the same size as the originals. I'm on a very tight budget and really wouldn't want to get the pots and new knobs. But, I will if they are worth it.
Swoop
If you use a 500K Alpha pot, such as this one from GuitarFetish you won't have to change the knobs, and they are a bit cheaper than the CTS ones. However, the CTS ones are superior. They're much better quality, and much smoother. They have a brass shaft which helps give them a smooth and noiseless operation, and are more of an upgrade over the stock ones than plain old Alpha ones.
