Either that, or it's only wax... heat up the solder just enough to cut through, not enough that it melts completely... Cut it, then if the covers come easy, take them off. If they're wax potted, and they don't come easy, try melting the wax with something... Once the covers are off, you may want to remove excess wax for aesthetic purposes before placing the pickups back into the guitar. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
