TWANG
nice collection! plugged your champ into the vj spkr. cab yet?
lpfan
Thanks TWANG. I haven't had a chance. I can't wait to try it though. The tubes are upgraded in both the Valve Jr. and the Champ. The Deluxe 112 is solid state but I got it for $70 bucks. I figured I could get $100 for it if I decided to sell it so I couldn't pass on it. It sounds good but I need to clean it up. It had been sitting in the guys closet for years so its dirty but there is no crackle or static when I adjust any of the controls so I was pretty fortunate with it. MaxHart85231281734137
niiiiiiice and +1 to twangs suggestion I have a champ too, I got some NOS tubes in there, and I plugged it into my blackheart 1x12 cab and its waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than the little 6 that comes in there. but its nice to have the small speaker for some good quite jams so its a win win HNAD! lpfan
I also got a Weber speaker with the Fender Champ 600. Its already mounted on a piece of plywood with some burlap(I think) covering the speaker. I just need to make a cab for it. I'm cool with making the cab but I don't know how to finish it with tolex so it will match. I have never tried to work with tolex before.
TWANG
I tried a couple of things with tolex.. not entirely successful, either. but the probs are the right glue and the dang corners. good deal on that solid state! I'd keep it. TWANG
lpfan
Yeah I'll keep the solid state. It sounds good and it has some age to it too. I like it when stuff has some age to it. Gives it a little more character.
