casino3033
Hi, Just thought i'd show some pics of my guitar. It's a Japan 335 63 (maple wood and faded cherry) just like the gibson 335 63 (mega money) except pickups are different and hardware is not quite the same (e.g. pickguard not wide bevel like gisbon and tailpiece zinc/nickel instead of aluminium, thou i have now swapped that to aluminium). Colour is very nice with grain showing through and all-in-all made me sell both my memphis gibson 335s (which i never thought i'd do)....it really is that good both in sound, feel and finish (thou i never expected it to be). Would love epiphone to remake/reissue these (sure they would sell by the ton at around £1000) but somehow i cant see it as if you swap the hardware out you would have a gibson 335 63 at a much cheaper price (unless having the word gibson on the headstock is crucial). Anthony_JB
Those japanese Epiphones are marvels! They really are! I saw a Epiphone Dot Elite on ebay going for 1,200 I think it was with the Gibson headstock.. I fell in love. I almost jumped on me, then I remembered my mother would kill me. Hungrycat
Nice. I know I love my Elitist 335. Wish it had the 'open book' headstock though...
TP
Excuse my ignorance, but is that a laminate Maple or solid maple top? Whatever it is, it sure is a beauty! Congrats on a great find!
