animalfarm
Thinking about all the git refinishes/projects I've seen here, Current and completed, am thinking about creating a "subsection" in the "Do it Yourself" thread of projects start to finish by Forum members. It would be a way for someone considering a "project" to see previous efforts, what was done, and end results in "Real Time" via the magic of posts accumulated over the course of start to finish. I can SEE several of the pics/threads in my mind, but cannot remember thread titles. I'll be digging thru archives, BUT am REQUESTING assistance gathering the links to these projects. There's the Epi Casino currently in progess, the Stratoblaster, the Bavarian Flag Dean, a couple of Epi Genesis re-dos, I did a few, and Duane, and......????????? (see what I mean?). So many, not counting the ones lost in the crash. Please add your posts to this thread with the Name of the Project/Thread, and the link so I can save info, then organize it for posting. I won't be able to include ALL projects (including any I've done), but will try to get a GOOD representation of different types/difficulty levels. Just gotta FIND 'em!!!!!!!!! I'll also work my way thru the last 6 months of posts in Lounge, Electric, and acoustic over time, hoped this would be faster.
animalfarm
For example: "Stratoblaster Project" http://forums.epiphone.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=13996 "Epiphone Casino Project" http://forums.epiphone.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=14752 "What has become My new Project Guitar" http://forums.epiphone.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=15353 you get the idea...... duane v
Ok!!! Here's what I'm going to do... I'm going to put in for a Lounge sub-forum for a "Guitar Project/Repair links by Forum Members." I know we have a ton of guitar tweakers here, and it would sure be nice to have a sperate forum to see all the wonderful ideas that we have all benefited from. animalfarm
I just spent last hour going thru last 6 months if posts in electrics, lounge, by forum member name, etc. have collected a small group of candidates. Still looking - some of the ones I WANTED were "lost". Duane wrote: Here's what I'm going to do... I'm going to put in for a Lounge sub-forum for a "Guitar Project/Repair links by Forum Members." I was originally intending to place it in DIY Sticky, but having a "dedicated to projects" thread would be great. Would have to be for thread titles and links only, though, with a brief description of project. Otherwise we might end up with a 40 page thread of projects that would be a pain to look thru... Please PM me with your thoughts/intentions - I'll have to adapt approach to fit the outcome.. Basically, I intended a "Quick Reference" list, with the actual thread continuing as usual elsewhere until completion. Make any sense? Would we have to keep bumping it? [/quote'] Smips - I've already flagged one of your links for review to include in the "project thread". All of the above probably apply to my internet capabilities. Actually, I DON'T have an internet connection - I just cram pieces of paper into my USB cable, then hit "send" - worked so far....

Guest icantbuyafender
Im about to get started on a complete '50's rewire for my LP ultra, using CTS pots, OrangeDrops, and cloth wire. Would some step by step pictures be good for a tutorial? If so, I better break out the camera. or is there a similar thread in there already? Being able to see a project and have commentary will HELP others that may be thinking about similar projects, but aren't quite sure how to approach it. I had to disregard a few project/builds because all that was shown was before/completed pics...really was looking for "start to finish" progress... Heck, yeah - go for it if you want to take the time to takes pics, etc.!!!!!
