mgrasso
Something is up right now with Turquoise Casinos. Two have been up on e-bay for the past week and, in my opinion, have been setting new records in selling price. This one has ended: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280503316553&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT This one still has a day to go: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320531726853&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT I remember just a few years ago these were selling between $350 and $450. Then there was this turquoise Riviera that just ended with a buy it now. Not sure if the seller knew what he had. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260604621383&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT I am interested in the Epi logo Bigsby. Would love to put one on my Casino. Mark
brianh
I've always thought that whether you're selling new or used products online at Guitar Center, Craigslist, or eBay, the inclusion of many, ultra-high quality photographs can make or break the sale. Even Craigslist allows you to link to 3rd-party photo hosting sites, a fact that not many sellers take advantage of. I've never been unable to sell something using this approach. Apparently the Casino sellers have got the message. The Riviera seller did not get it and lost out.
Fantana
The turquoise casinos are quite rare these days, and offer an awesome alternative to the natural/VS/cherry finishes that are currently available. I run a fan page on facebook for the turk casino and it's getting more popular by the week. It seems that if people are willing to pay around $1000 for one then my guitar has increased in value by $600 since I bought it just before christmas! TP
I am interested in the Epi logo Bigsby. Would love to put one on my Casino. Mark They do look nice on the Casino.... Mine came from the Peerless factory that way in 1996.
epidotstudio
Personally, I think it's absurd to pay twice as much for a guitar, simply for a color, "rare" or not. Quite probably, one could buy a standard Casino and get a quality refinish (any color you want) for less. And buying into the hype only drives the already artificially inflated prices even higher. mgrasso
They do look nice on the Casino.... Mine came from the Peerless factory that way in 1996. Paul that is a beautiful Casino. And yes, the bigsby looks great on it. My Casino is your Casino's brother, a 96 Peerless, only with the vintage cherry sunburst, and of course, no bigsby. I have only seen one for sale (epi bigsby in the last 5 years, and am kicking myself for not buying it then) I just had the electronics replaced, (pickups are still original and sound great now). Great factory, great build, great sound. Brian, you are on to something, shine it up, position it just right and quality photos do make it easier to sell. Some of us can see a diamond in the rough, but for most buyers, if it does not have that appeal factor, it wont sell. Mark
TP
I did the same thing just last month or so with my Casino. Just had a local guitar guru install a new 3 way switch, and all new electronics including the vintage wiring harness. I too like the original P90's and have no reason to swap them out. I did swap out the gold knobs for black/silver period correct knobs that I felt looked great with the black/silver Epi Bigsby. It is a great playing guitar that has become a "keeper" in my stable. I feel fortunate that it came with the Bigsby even though I rarely use it. It is nice to have and I think it adds some balance to the guitar overall too as it always feels "just right" when holding it with a strap on. By the way, I like the Turquoise ones, but I will always prefer a natural or nicely done Tobacco type burst on a guitar unless your talking a Daphne Blue or Surf Green Strat...... (I would take one of those in a heartbeat!)
