tpurgatoryt
I'm not sure if this is the proper way to do it. tell me if it is or isnt?
animalfarm
Great find - Right on the money. The silicon underneath is to prevent vibration between top of pup and inside of cover. Soldering the sides of the cover to the pup base is the preferred way, but your soldering iron has to be able to get hot enough for a quick "on the cover, off the cover" application - tin tip, on the joint betweeen two pieces, hit with solder, off the joint. I have also seen just silicon used underneath instead of solder in emergency installs - run thin bead on both sides (while clamped), then clamp stays on until silicone is set up/dried, generally overnite.... AnthemBassMan
-You bet! The guys from RS Guitarworks are top notch. Anything you see them do, you don't have to worry if it's correct or not. You can't build a business like theirs by doing shoddy or incorrect work. L8R, Matt
