charlie brown
Well, guys... (transcribed, from the Lounge) I didn't heed my own warnings (Stay out of guitar shops..especially E.M. Shorts) very well, again...today! I had a guitar in there, on "consignment" and when I was up there, on Wednesday, picking up my "Gold Top," I noticed a used (but like new) Marshall 1960A 4X12 cabinet. I thought about it, all the way home, chewed on it, for 2 days, and this morning I called Cody at "Shorts," and asked if I could take my guitar off "consignment," and trade it in, on the Marshall cabinet, and a new Epiphone "Inspired By" 'Texan?' He agreed, as the total of those two items matched exactly, what I would have recieved as a trade in, and most likely even as what the consigment would have garnered me. So...my good friends, CB is now the proud owner, of a "like new" (and it Really Is) Marshall 1960A 4X12 cabinet, and a new Epi Texan, and case. (See photos, below) ;>) I REALLY do, need to stay out of guitar shops! LOL LOVE 'EM!!! Equipment wise, it's been a good week, for Charlie Brown (Smile) *Sorry, about posting the same thing, in two different areas, but I don't know how many people go back and forth...most of us(?), I suppose? ;>b CB
Red 333
Great looking back on that Texan, CB. How's she sound? I presume the Gold Top you're talking about is one of the new Gibson Tribute Studio Les Pauls, correct? I really missed out on that one. I would have loved the Gold Top. CONGRATS on your good scores! Red 333 It sounds Great. Very even toned, bass to treble, and great seperation. Has that "Texan" warmth, too. I haven't had a chance (yet) to try out the Shadow Nanoflex pickup...(my first experience, with this type) but I've been told it's a really nice pickup system. I like how they did it, too...so the controls are, basically, invisible. I know it's early yet, but I'm very pleased with it, all around. And yeah, Red...the "Gold Top," is one of the '50's Tribute LP Studios. CB
Svet
Congrats CB, what are you driving the Cab with?
charlie brown
Congrats CB, what are you driving the Cab with? Thanks, Svet...right now, it will be used as an extension, or, possibly, main cabinet (in certain situations) for my Twin Reverb, or HR Deluxe. It is pristine, and was a great deal, so I really couldn't pass it up. Will try to find a nice Marshall (tube) head, at an equally "good deal," later. ;>) Until then, I guess my Fender amps, do the driving duty, for now.
