heymisterk
Hi All, Well, this is kind of popping the cherry ahead of schedule, but hopefully you can help... I finally got a Les Paul. It's an '05 Standard Faded. My first order of business was to swap out the Vintage tuners with Grover Rotomatics. I cockily thought that because I easily did so with my SG Classic, they would slide right into my LP. But I think I am wrong, in just eyeballing how big the holes are. The Rotos are for 25/64 slots but these slots look smaller. Right?
gearhead
I'm gonna guess you'll have to ream the holes. I've drilled them before from the backside, but you've got to be very careful and not go all the way through. It would be best to take it to a repair shop and have them ream the holes for you. Which Roto's did you get, full sized? (The screw is straight down, not at an angle.)
heymisterk
Yeah, full sized. I think I might have to live with the vintage style because I don't want to alter the guitar...yet... Thanks for your help!
sparky scott 29
I would defiantly live with the old style personally.
