Archer993 Posted August 12, 2008 Share Posted August 12, 2008 I posted this under "Pickups" with no response so I thought I'd try here: I'm getting ready to mod a 2001 LP Custom and want to put an Angus Young PU in the bridge position. I'll be replacing the pots and caps with a Jimmy Page style harness - all push pulls. Hardware on the guitar is gold. So the questions are: 1) I believe the current bridge position has f-spaced pole spacing - how far off is the Angus version? 2) Can I easily unsolder the chrome cover and what does an Angus look like uncovered (ugly or just the usual bobbins)? Custom Admin Posted August 13, 2008 Share Posted August 13, 2008 1) the spacing should be the same on both...we call it Bridge spacing, not f-spacing (f would indicate either fender or Floyd rose spacing). 2) you could unsolder it, and the AY will look like any other pickup (bobbins and slugs). However, we don't recommend taking the cover off, as you may encounter some harmonic feeback without it. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
