They were built from 1975 to 1978. For more info, just Google "Gibson MK-72". The value is hard to say, because both supply and demand are small, and so there aren't a lot of sales. onewilyfool Posted January 11, 2011 Share Posted January 11, 2011 KS Daddy is the resident GURU about these guitars, often they have structural problems, sinking tops, loose neck blocks....etc.....he know all about them. I think the lower number models used mahogany and EI Rosewood, some of the higher number model numbers have Brazilian.......lots of info on line.... Jinder Posted January 13, 2011 Share Posted January 13, 2011 Here in the UK, you'd expect to pay £700 for a MK72, £550 or so for a MK53 and £3-400 for a MK35.
