whiteop
I'm normally a Strat player and recently started playing Gibsons again (have an Epiphone LP Ultra II, a Gibson LP Traditional Pro, and a Gibson ES-335). My Epiphone Les Paul Ultra II is a great sounding and playing guitar. The neck on it has very little finish and plays very well. It has a thinner profile neck which is known as a Slimtaper neck. It also has a piezo pickup for acoustic work too.

BigKahune
I own 2 Gibsons so I'm entitled... Okay. Chase is telling the OP he would likely get more responses on the Epi Electrics forum - http://forum.gibson.com/index.php?/forum/90-epiphone-electrics/ Or Epi Lounge - http://forum.gibson.com/index.php?/forum/91-epiphone-lounge/
