Has anyone used a a Model Airplane Prop Reamer enlarging holes for tuner peg

holes I have been seeing alot of posts about using one.

I have to go 8mm deep into the back of headstock with a 10 mm diameter reamer.

Just wondering how well they work. some posts i read talk about this reamer .

I've never used one of those. Is it a tapered reamer? Your link wouldn't work.

I've used the standard peg head tapered reamer, which works but enlarges the entire hole, but I usually use a drill bit

with a collar on it or just mark it with a piece of tape so I know how deep I'm going. PLUS, it doesn't enlarge

the hole on the front side of the peg head, which will allow you to re-install the original bushings if needed.

Whatever method you use just be careful and watch you don't splinter the wood around the hole.

A proper sized sharp drill bit, in a drill run in reverse, also works well. The flutes on the bit won't dig in, which is where the chipping occurs. And it's easier to control the depth of the "ream" as the flutes aren't pulling it down. A little tape on the surface is extra insurance, but I've never had an issue using this method.

I used one like brianh suggested on my SG. Worked very well. I at first thought about using a dremel but on second thought prefered to do it by hand. Was happy with my decision as I just took it slow and eveything went fine.
