suburude63
Thia ia all I have found online? "Gibson toyed with the J-45 a little more, calling it the J-45 Western and adding the wartime "Only a Gibson..." banner in '94, then removing the banner and calling it the Early J-45 from 1997-'98." CAMELEYE
Played one once for sale here locally. Thought it sounded really good. Neck felt more shallow than current J-45s. Sold pretty fast.
Modac
I had one----it was a 1994....J45 Western, with a natural top.... the best post war J-45 I've ever played...it was a half inch shallower at the lower bout than my friend's 1995 J45....feather weight, resonant, breathy, warm and woody. Only a diseased Gasaholic would have ever parted with it....what more can I say?

gearbasher
I had a '94 J-45 Western. I bought new in '94. Sorry to say, I hated the sound. It was the easiest playing acoustic I've ever owned, but it sounded very muffled, especially during the summer months. I also needed a "winter" and "summer" saddle for it, that's how much the action changed with the climate. I traded it in toward a Martin D-60 around '99. michaelsegui
I played one in 1994... I thought the banner looked weird with the modern logo.... the Buddy Holly had a similar headstock but in pearl... it was weird too
