Jabberwocky
With the passing of Jim Hutchins in 2008 (RIP), who is the new Master Luthier in the Gibson Custom Shop? Has anyone compared the L5 CES or Wes made during Jim's tenure to post-Jim Hutchins? Has the quality held up? I guess we're essentially talking about 2009, 2010 L5 archtops. Thank you. L5Larry
My L-5CES is a 1990 "Historic Series" Jim Hutchins signed "Master Model" model. The only other ones I've played have been older 60's models, and have not played any new ones to compare it to.

axvault
He is the luthier who signed my tuned and finalized by L4 CES. You can see it at axvault.com . I did not know he was the master Luthier. Cool. My L4 has stamped on the back of the head stock "Not For resale". And it does not have the a model number on the truss rod cover? Is mine guitar definitely a factory second? the serial number puts it in the fist year of the re-issue. #80099527
