ender600
hi!! just have on question!! is there anybody here that might know where a person would go to get some details on their LP using the serial number?? just bought a 92(I think) LP standard and was hoping to find out what pickups it has etc etc using the serial number. tried to contact gibson but my name isn't the same as something you do with a knife or hockey stick so they've chosen to ignore me. apparently they haven't installed any phones at the factory yet either cause I couldn't find any such contact info. in this age of so many advanced methods of communication it sure is difficult just to talk to someone who might be able to answer some questions for a customer. any suggestions??? Bookkeeper's Son
You can try http://www.guitardaterproject.org/gibson.aspx but the serial number will tell you nothing more than date and location of manufacture; it's not like an automobile VIN. Other members more knowledgeable about the specifics beyond that will be able to tell you more.
StijnV
At our factories we're not really staffed to take customer calls, therefore please try service.@gibson.com or 1-800-4GIBSON (1-800-444-2766) or in Europe service.europe@gibson.com or 00+8004GIBSON1 (00+800-444-2766-1) For serial number queries for guitars from later than 1986 we always ask the following pictures as well, due to security reasons: * Photos of the instrument in JPG format as an attachment (please limit to 2MB total size) – full front, full back, as well as close ups of the front and back of the headstock, with the serial number clearly visible. Also of any inside labels that the instrument may have. Kind regards, Stijn
