AlanH
Just curious I have seen these SG's in Gibsons and Epiphone and they have the Les paul name on it. JUst kinda curious why these models of Sg's are called that. The SG was originally the replacement for the Les Paul. It later became the SG. Les Paul himself didn't like the SG so eventually refused to endorse it.
This_Dying_Soul
I seem to remember a few years before he died someone asked Les about his decision to have his name removed from the SG. After explaining what it was that he didn't like about the SG, he'd also said in reference to the SG being Gibson's best selling model of all time,"If I knew then, what I know now I would have kept my mouth shut". Les never appeared to be short on cash thanks to all the patents he'd registered during his life, but I think he realized he missed out on a major cash cow.
