harmonicchaos
the 60's is a slimmer faster neck and is more remniscent of the fast necks of metal guitars such as schecter. i do believe that it is more like a few fender neck also. i have the vm too and i like the wide neck. the best way to see is to try both at a guitar store. Gibson CS
Its hard to pigeon hole a Fender neck. They come in all shapes and sizes. My Stevie Ray Vaughan Strat has a thick Oval shape neck. The biggest neck Fender ever made. Trust me, its like twisting a baseball bat....but thats part of what gives that guitar its sound. My 70's Strat has a "U" shaped neck...again its a thick neck, and not for everyone. Fender has "V" necks, soft"V" necks, "C" shaped..."D" shaped. So as I said, its hard to pin point a Fender neck. My LP has the 60's Taper...beautiful feeling in my hands. The 50's felt huge, and I already have my Strats to cover that field.
