My link this explains and shows the difference between 50's / modern and dependent or independent volume pots. another great site is HERE When i did mine I learned about 50's wiring then looked up a diagram from the second link that had diagrams for coil splitting and applied what i had learned about the 50's wiring to it. Also if you pop over to the epi lounge there is an amazing DIY thread with loads of really cool stuff about wiring and modding guitars.
