JKHillSG Posted November 14, 2011 Share Posted November 14, 2011 according to how gibson serial numbers work, your guitar was made on the 138th day of the year 1996 and was in the third batch. i'm not 100% confident on this but the first and fifth number tell you the year, the three in between give you the day of the year, and the sixth tells you the batch number. i believe they make 699 guitars a batch. i'm pretty sure about the first 6 numbers and the last three not so sure of. as big said, you should contact gibson for more details Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
