I want the Epiphone 50th Anniversary 1961 SG Special in TV Yellow with a sickness but I'm in the middle of an SG Special build from a stripped neck/body I got off of Ebay.....it's only $399.....should I just sooth the jones or wait until I've completed the Special?

Has anyone here played one of these yet? How was it?

I am no real help here, I was looking at that myself so my answer is BOTH!

Personally I wouldn't pay $400 for an Epiphone when I get can get a nice used Faded for around the same price.

Seriously? I have an Epi that will whup the socks off a faded/studio, and it was only 400 bucks......

And older Korean/Japanese Epis are superior to most lower level Gibson's produced today.

Nice.

I already have an SG Special faded "worn cherry". That's the one I'm in the middle of building.

YouTube reviews of the Epi look tempting.

I actually really dig some Epiphones (Casino, vintage acoustics, etc.). I played a 60's/70's model J200 (don't remember the exact year) and it sounded as good as any Gibson I've played. $300. Would have bought it but didn't have money with me that exact day and I wasn't the only one interested in it.
