i'd be willing to give the benefit of the doubt, but with that many photos to go with the cut-and-paste description, it seems like treachery is afoot. or can a dealer be that dumb/careless? what says you?

Jeff's Music Gear has a pretty good rating, so I'd give hime the benefit of the doubt and assume it's just a mistake.

It's a Chinese Custom. You can se the "EE" in the serial number. It's an Epiphone, but not an Elitist.

i guess i should have said "impostor" instead of fake. i know what it is. but i also know what it isn't. i'm guessing the one bidder doesn't, if not the dealer as well.

 

find it a little hard to believe that a reputable dealer that took so many photos made this big of a mistake. but there you go.

I sent him a message on eBay asking him to correct the listing.

 

If he gets enough of them, he may do something or may not, but the bidder has no obligation to follow through with a purchase since it's intentionally or unintentionally falsely listed.

 

If a person (strictly theoretical) were to win this bid and take delivery, said person could claim deceptive practices and instruct PayPal to inform the seller to refund and return or destroy the item at the seller's expense.

 

Of course, eBay doesn't verify item destruction except in photos, so the theoretical buyer could Photoshop a busted up guitar and keep the original.

 

Just sayin'...
