lol they had it behind a canvas. I posted better pics of it on the forum

HNGD! Nice guitar!

You don't live on the moon do you? It looks like that's where you took the photos. If that's the case, $450 shipped to get it across a quarter of a million miles of space is definitely a good deal. [biggrin]

Couldn't edit last post so I'll post correction here. (word omissions)

"I never play the thing. It's awful, heavy and I don't want to mess it up. I have other guitars to play, this one was an investment."

"FWIW, I play my 2007 Epi LP more than my newest 2010 Gibson LP."

You play your Epi but store your Gibsons. So which is really is worth more?

The Gibsons. Look, I'm never going to make any money playing guitar. Maybe if I hung out at a park with my amp hooked to my van and a jar sitting on top the amp...maybe. I enjoy playing and play a minimum of twice a day, sometimes 4. But the Gibsons are better than a savings account. You take $5000 and put it in the bank and you're going to get LESS than 1% interest rate. More like .25%, maybe .50% for a large amount. Since 2000 my BB has gone up from $1200 to around $4000...maybe $5000 to the right buyer. What's the better deal? If we somehow got 1% on $1200 in a savings account, that's $12 per year in interest x 12 years = a whopping $144. Yes, I DO love my Gibsons for that reason. I play my Epis...I just bought a 97 Epi Del Ray with Seymour Duncans in it for under $500, plus a free gig bag and stand. The pickups are worth 1/2 what I paid for the guitar...one an SH-14 the other a Pearly Gates. But sadly, this guitar will never be worth much unless they all of a sudden become interesting to people and therefore collectible. NOT LIKELY with Epiphone emblazoned on the headstock. It's just the way of things. -Rod-

You know, I just love them Gibsons too. Really, I do! In fact that is really what brought me to Epiphone. That and I just can't really justify to myself to spend that kind of money on a guitar when I'm not playing professionally. Now, I admit that I do have some major GAS for a Gibbie and I probably in due time will own one anyway just cause I really want one. While investing is one thing but your advice to spend a lot more money for something that you won't play is just plain silly. To me anyways, YMMV
