Alan189
Here is my Sheraton II (made in Unsung, Korea 2008) which has been slightly modded. Swapped out the control knobs and pickup selector switch, then changed the pickups to mini's and then attached a frequensator! Hope you like it... Jayyj
Good work, looks great - it's a shame they don't produce a stock Sheraton with the vintage correct features, but well done for taking it into your own hands!
brianh
Nice job. Which minis did you use and where did you get them and the trim rings?
mbrooks0711
Nice job. Which minis did you use and where did you get them and the trim rings? Ditto. Those are really interesting mods. I've never seen someone do the mini's and frequensator like that. It looks great. How do the mini's sound as compared to standard humbuckers? Alan189
Thanks for the positive replies! I got both the pickups and converter surrounds from eBay. The mini humbucker are exact replicas of the NY Mini-humbucker but its not soaked in wax like normal Epiphone pickups so I get nice clear clean tones and good gain sounds aswell. The pickups sound inbetween P90 and normal Humbucker, more so humbucker though and there is no noise from the pickups so always a good sign. I'll see if I can do a sound demo at some point and post it up. I still have the standard Epiphone pickups that came with the guitar but they sounded too muddy, especially the neck pickup so I was unsure what I was going to do, initially. I thought about '57 Classics then started looking up original vintage Epiphone Sheratons and decided at that point I'd go for that look/sound! Strav's_fire
Definitely looks good. Good work How fiddily was it to change the pickups it being a hollow body?
Blueman335
Nicely done! Looks great, and I bet it sounds that way too. I have a black Sheraton that I put a pair of Duncan PU's in. I have the stock stop bar, but it would look even better with a trapeze tailpiece or a maestro vibrola on it.
