Epiphone EL-00 and Bluesmaster

I read they are 2 quite different guitars, but I wonder if they have same size and shape.

For what I know the EL-00 should be identical in shape and size to the Gibson Blues King.

Is the same for the Bluesmaster ?

NONONONONONONONONONONONO!!!!!!!

Bluesmaster: wider nut, 12-frets-to-the-body, v-profile neck. I don't recall from playing one long ago, but I'd guess a slight diff in body size perhaps dictated by the 12-fret neck. And you can afford it, too! If you have a shot at a Bluesmaster, GETITGETITGETIT! An ideal finger-picker's blues guitar, which EPI NEEDS TO BRING BACK!!!!!

Now let me tell you what I really think...

Thanks bloozeguy.

So they are really 2 very different animals !

You betcha!

BTW, did some research after I signed off before. Seems as though many are saying that, though they were really bargain priced before, the BMs are now getting prices up in the $800-1,000. range, thought by those many to be ridiculous for it (lam. back & sides, after all), and probably due to Keb Mo being seen with it. Also, a very limited run of these--I've heard only 500 made. Some reviews say "nice but nothing special." Well, methinks they are not thinking of the same musical ballpark you and I are playing in.

Good luck finding one at a decent price, and, I repeat, if you already have a line on one such, get it!

Keb Mo and his brand of "pop" blues ain't got nuttin' to do with it. The Bluesmaster was a heck of a guitar and could, in my opinion, give the Gibson Blues King a run for its money. I always wondered if the Bluesmaster was discontinued because it was just too flippin' good.

Too flippin' good at too flippin' good of a price! Hell yes, it gives the Blues King a run for its money--especially for the money even now, if used BMs are, in fact, now overpriced. Not as overpriced as the Blues King or the Robert Johnson model! And, just so ya know, I DO agree with you on Keb Mo--was just reporting what I read in some reviews.

You know, if Epi ever does reissue the BM, I bet it's not quite the steal that it was before. Or maybe in several different "trim lines" like the Texan and the Casino.

If they do bring it back from the dead, I am hoping that Gibson will not go the same route with the Epi BM that Fender did with the Squire '51. They reissued it with a Fender logo and now charge $800 for a guitar you could once get at Overstock.com for $70.
