Bad Quality Tune-O-Matic on 2003 L5CES

In late 2003 i bought a brand new, beautiful blonde L5 CES. I just noticed (once again) when replacing the strings and resetting the intonation, that the adjustment screws for the inserts on the Tune-O-Matic bridge are very hard to turn. Hard to the point that one thinks they will break if beeing turned more in some positions. It seems that either the thread of the screw does not match the thread in the insert and that the screws are somewhat eccentric.

I'v repaired and adjusted my and my student's guitars for three decades now (Gibsons/Fenders/Ovations/Yamahas and even some cheapos like Fenix, but never came across a bridge in such poor quality. For a instrument at that price one should think that only top quality parts would be used.

Does anyone have similar experiences? Is there a chance to get free replacement? I'd hate to pay for a replacement due to poor quality of the original part.

TIA,
