martin_nitram Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Hello to all! This is my first post, so let me introduce myself. I live in France, i'm 29 and playing guitar from 15 years. I have a Fender Stratocaster, Telecaster and Epiphone SG 400. Right now, i really want one of these Gibson's Les Paul Studio '50s Tribute Humbucker. I found it a great value and my chance to have an Gibson Les Paul at a great price (i could never afford the higher end models). Now my problem... I can only get them from Thomann. And at best, i can only buy one by August/September (money is short right now...). So my problem is: will they be available for that long? I already emailed Thomann asking for more info on availability but didn't got a reply. So i'm trying to get more info in here. From past experiences on Gibson limited models, do you think this will be available for a "long" time (at least until September)? Are these "grab-it-when-you-can" as they will be out of stock in a few weeks? Based on your better knowledge about how Gibson works and deals with limited edition models, do you have any further info that can help me regarding availabilty? Thank you so much in advance, Martin
btoth76 Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Hello Martin and welcome to the Forums! The company You've named never replies to mails...Depending on color, they get sold out pretty quickly. The black ones seem to be unpopular... Cheers... Bence
StijnV Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 This model is no longer available: discontinued in all colors. Cannot be ordered anymore unfortunately.

GuitarBuilder Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 This model is no longer available: discontinued in all colors. Cannot be ordered anymore unfortunately. That's strange! No indication of that on the Gibson website. In either case, there are plenty of them available at a variety of vendors. Just use Google - here's a vendor I like in the US: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/LPST5HTGSCH?utm_source=CSE&utm_medium=PPC&utm_campaign=none&utm_term=LPST5HTGSCH&rkg_attid=328440544&SID=0&zmam=89202644&zmas=1&zmac=1&zmap=LPST5HTGSCH Lots of them at Thomann France: http://www.thomann.de/fr/search_dir.html?xsid=1ff7e675b1552fcc0c4b713bec23034b&sw=Les+Paul+Studio+%2750s+Tribute+Humbucker&x=6&y=3

The light back models with rosewood boards were a limited run exclusive for Thomann. It now appears that the dark backs with toasted maple boards are available outside Europe as well. Some of the big UK stores have them too.
