pfox14
13s may be the best option as they will really drive the top and produce a more pronounced tone. I believe that shipped guitars from their factory back in the old days with 13s on them.

pfox14
Paul, isn't that a lot of string tension on a 100-year-old guitar? Nick, These guitars were built to withstand that kinda string tension. I still think the 13s will be fine.
Spot
Paul, isn't that a lot of string tension on a 100-year-old guitar? ...I'm with you on this one Nick. At least I'd tune down a half step if I went this high to a set of 13's. I tend to leave my vintage Gibsons with 12's, mainly tuned down unless I'm playing out. Call me crazy....
