scmglotr
Hey everyone, I have a question. I have an 04 lp studio faded inWB and a long time ago it sat on a stand that ate thru the nitro in one spot on the edge of the guitar. If I added a little brush on satin nitro to the spot will it blend ok with the surrounding nitro. I just want to protect the wood and any further deterioration of the surrounding finish. Also any tips and advice are greatly appreciated.
BigKahune
. Yes. After, sand with extra fine paper to level out the brush over and then polish/buff with something like Virtuoso or fine rubbing compound (white). You might want to check with a shop/luthier for an estimate as this spot repair shouldn't be very costly. As you might have already gathered, make sure your stands are nitro safe. As an extra precaution I use unbleached cotton cloths to protect the contact points. .
