epiphone dot intonation

Hi i recently purchased an epiphone dot its intonation wasn't perfect so i attempted to alter this by changing the length of the strings. While the low e,a and d strings intonated perfectly at the 12th fret the g,b and e srings are tricky and i cannot get them to intonate at the 12th fret however much i alter the bridge saddle's position. So my question is whats the problem?

Seriously - that would be my best guess. You are losening the strings when you move the saddles right.

I had the same problem.. kept running out of room on the saddle adjustment. I found out that GFS sells bridges(cheap) that are deeper--more saddle adjustment. They drop right onto the existing posts and problem solved.

I went with a roller bridge on my dot. Same deal, dropped right on. Both are wider front to back.

Good luck!

If you flip the bridge round you'll get more adjustment range of the E B & G strings - usually enough to solve the problem without having to buy a new bridge.
