Carl Kolosine
Hi i recently purchased an epiphone dot its intonation wasn't perfect so i attempted to alter this by changing the length of the strings. While the low e,a and d strings intonated perfectly at the 12th fret the g,b and e srings are tricky and i cannot get them to intonate at the 12th fret however much i alter the bridge saddle's position. So my question is whats the problem?

Trewblue
I had the same problem.. kept running out of room on the saddle adjustment. I found out that GFS sells bridges(cheap) that are deeper--more saddle adjustment. They drop right onto the existing posts and problem solved. http://store.guitarfetish.com/Large-Bushing-Tuneomatic-Style-Chrome-Bridge_p_444.html I went with a roller bridge on my dot. Same deal, dropped right on. Both are wider front to back. http://store.guitarfetish.com/Roller-Bridge-Chrome-plated-fits-Les-Paul_p_661.html Good luck! wiggy
If you flip the bridge round you'll get more adjustment range of the E B & G strings - usually enough to solve the problem without having to buy a new bridge.
